AMSTERDAM. In the closing ceremony of the world-wide recognized power event Power-Gen Europe 2010, PennWell, its organizer, awarded as "very commended" the contribution of Solar Power Group titled "Potential of solar add-ons to coal-fired power plants" that shows how the inclusion of a Solar Power Group solar boiler can increase the fuel efficiency and therefore, decrease CO2 emissions in existing conventional coal-fired power plants.
The paper was selected in the frame of the second track of the conference, "Reducing the carbon footprint in fossil power generation".
26 high quality papers were in total presented in the conference's second track. Solar Power Group's contribution was selected as one of the best three among them.
"This is a very good signal given by the conventional power industry about the
role that solar energy will play in the future regarding the reduction of CO2", shared Mauricio Rojas, from Solar Power Group.
